Inuit heritage as hero

We were commissioned to draft an identity for a proposed cultural centre being planned by the Nunatsiavut government for the Inuit community on the northern coast of Labrador. The identity had to strongly reflect the thousand-year old hunter-gatherer culture of the region.

After extensive client consultation, our designers hit upon a creative approach. The resulting logo positions Inuit heritage as the hero of the identity, depicting a native hunter in traditional attire handling a spear. The spear integrates seamlessly with the typography, slicing through the type to create the first letter in the cultural centre’s name.
